The PBA Commissioner's Cup started in the year 1993. Swift Mighty Meaty was the first ever champion of this conference after defeating Purefoods. It was then stopped in year 2003 and was replaced by PBA Invitational Championship. After 8 years, the Commissioner's Cup was once again brought back by the PBA along with Philippine Cup and Governors' Cup in 2010-2011 conferences and Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters won the championship. San Mig Coffee Mixers or Purefoods Star Hotshots are the defending champions of the Commissioner's Cup as of 2013-2014 PBA season.
